Herman has over 16 years of experience in security, with a background in the military before becoming a security professional. He started his security career with Petra Diamonds in 2007. He has worked globally in various security fields as part of the senior leadership team of a major diamond mining company, focusing on diamond security in the past decade. This includes the development of processes, policies and procedures governing and managing high risk security.

His core value is to protect. His vision is to support organisations in making protection and loss prevention an all-inclusive strategy, creating a higher level of effectiveness and to deliver increased business value from protecting assets and products.
